+--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------+ | Jornada Information Management System | | Dataset Documentation Form | +--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------+ | All Jornada Basin LTER (NSF/NMSU) and Jornada Experimental Range (USDA/ARS) data sets must be | | documented on the following form. This applies to any data set intended for permanent archiving.| | All raw data sets collected under the auspices of the Jornada Basin LTER (NSF/NMSU) and Jornada | | Experimental Range (USDA/ARS) will be described by the following standardized form. Information | | that is not available at this time, must be included when it becomes available. In addition, | | attributes measured for this data set must also be described on an Attribute Documentation Form. | | All forms are available online at http://jornada-www.nmsu.edu and from the data manager. | | See data manager for any questions regarding this form. | | | | The Project Documentation Form associated with this data set is used for description of the | | research project. | +--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------+ 1) Data set title: --------------- USDA-NOAA Daily Climatological Data 2) Project title: -------------- USDA Jornada Experimental Range Climate Data 3) Responsible investigator(s): ---------------------------- Kris Havstad 4) Date data collection commenced (mm/dd/yyyy): -------------------------------------------- 06/01/1914 5) Date data collection terminated (mm/dd/yyyy or ONGOING): -------------------------------------------------------- ONGOING 6) Expected duration of study: --------------------------- ONGOING 7) Frequency of measurement: ------------------------- Daily 8) Researchers: (Personnel who will be obtaining data and who would need to be contacted directly if there is a problem in the raw data): ---------------------------------------------------------------- Kris Havstad, David Thatcher 9) Methods of recording (field data sheets, instrumental, etc.): ---------------------------------------------------------------- field data sheets 10) Site location (Describe in sufficient detail that the site can be relocated): ---------------------------------------------------------------- USDA Jornada Experimental Range Headquarters Latitude: 32 37 00 Longitude: 106 44 26 UTM: 336698E 3609961N Elevation: 1320 meters 4330 feet 11) Data set description (State the hypothesis and / or objectives which collection of data set addresses): ---------------------------------------------------------------- Monthly summary of precipitation and air temperature data collected daily from standard U.S. climatological service instruments located at USDA Jornada Experimental Range Headquarters. 12) Attributes measured: ------------------------------------------------------------------- Variable name: blank Number of columns between fields CCCCCCCC See attribute description Format: C = character (C3: Three characters [XXX]) I = integer (I2: Integer with two places [##]) F = floating point (F4.2: Total places with decimal point = 4, with 2 decimal places.
